I was trying this in GoDaddy’s Website Tonight product and couldn’t get it to work. Does it not work in any HTML editor? Warning, I’m computer fluent but a newbie to internet marketing. thanks

Maybe try changing the quotes from these ” “ angled quotes Wordpress likes to regular vertical quotes that your editor will type. It may or may not make the difference. Just copy/paste the code into your html view and then try to delete and retype the quotation marks individually. It may be the problem. I’m not certain though.

That is too sweet! My version had me download the whole DB and is nowhere as accurate as this one. Thanks!

I would like to use this script, but the website is down for maintenance. It’s a nice solution, and seems to work fast. All I want to do is welcome the guest.

Thanks for the post about geo ip details.

If you need to get the closest major city to a user, check out my script (Lambda GeoIP). You can find the nearest major city to the user with a population of over 1 million, etc.

For most other purposes the MaxMind fits the bill.
