Easy geo/ip script to be sneaky with

You’ve seen ads that say “Hi I’m Tina from , and I want to be your best friend! Please buy my stuff.” Here is how it’s done.
1. Write your sentence without the location: “Hi I’m Tina from and I want to be your best friend.”
2. Go to HTML view and paste the following script in the spot where the location should be displayed.
<script language=”JavaScript” src=”http://j.maxmind.com/app/geoip.js“></script><script language=”JavaScript”>document.write(geoip_city());</script>, <script language=”JavaScript”>document.write(geoip_region());</script>
3. Publish it and view it online to make sure it works.
4. Buy me a shot of cheap whiskey next time you see me.

I was trying this in GoDaddy’s Website Tonight product and couldn’t get it to work. Does it not work in any HTML editor? Warning, I’m computer fluent but a newbie to internet marketing. thanks

Maybe try changing the quotes from these ” “ angled quotes WordPress likes to regular vertical quotes that your editor will type. It may or may not make the difference. Just copy/paste the code into your html view and then try to delete and retype the quotation marks individually. It may be the problem. I’m not certain though.

I would like to use this script, but the website is down for maintenance. It’s a nice solution, and seems to work fast. All I want to do is welcome the guest.
