Earnings update February 2011, $3.7K net profit

by dangerbrown on March 7, 2011

February has been the worst month yet for me in a long time. First some numbers:

Total Spent:  $6,580.07
Gross Profit: $10,242.92
Net Profit:       $3,662.85

ROI:                        55.7%

I really hate posting numbers like this. It’s embarrassing. But I made a commitment to share my results on this blog.

The 3 main reasons my income sucks right now:

1. I’ve been lazy

2. When I did work, I neglected my active campaigns to work on upcoming projects.

3. I have 5 kids and our 11 month old and my wife haven’t been sleeping well at night. So I wind up babysitting until 1 or 2 pm while my wife gets some shuteye. After that, I have trouble getting motivated feeling like the day is shot already.

I spent several days looking into and studying new niches and new traffic sources. Basically, it’s like I’ve been going back to school.

I spent about 7-10 days side-tracked working on developing a board game. Probably sounds silly to some people…. I’m a born entrepreneur and have always been easily side-tracked by whatever new idea infatuates me at the time. I’d put this as the #1 reason I’m not rich yet. A person really needs to focus on one thing to achieve great success in life. Learn from my experience. Focus on only 1 or 2 traffic sources and 1 or 2 niches.

To your success!

Don’t stop. You’ll find that niche.

Dude, You gotta make the money but family comes first. The kid sleeping thing will pass. We had a similar issue and it does suck the life out of everybody. It does give you time though to think about your business and use the time to do some planning.

I did find something that has helped me focus better and its called “The Action Machine” (no I’m not an affiliate :) ). Its nothing more than a timer but if you actually use it, it seems to help me get things done more timely.
Keep plugging and keep posting! You’ll get there

Keep at it brother. I found that the time for me was at 5 am while every one else was sleeping. The TO DO list is a must for me with my adult ADD. I also get the gratification of crossing stuff off the list as I do it.
Like the other product idea. Are you still planing to go to other seminars this year? I just saw that Blogworld just posted new dates by the way. Good hunting

This is one of the reasons why I love having an office. It was hard for my wife to separate me being home… and me being home during work hours. It made me work far less because I would end up helping around, etc.

But… keep up the good work, you’ll get back up there! :)

Hey Danger, thanks for the facebook add and its great looking at your numbers. I just recently started posting numbers on my blog as well. Keep up the good work, we have good and bad months like everyone out there.

I like your style Danger. But, I gotta admit that it seems like you’re having to reinvent yourself every month. The income seems to be all over the place each month. Pretty chaotic. I would focus on ways to get more stable income sources. Maybe something like what Jonathan’s been doing in ecommerce or maybe some product or service that you can offer.

At least, that’ll get you around the slaps that MSN has been hitting you with lately.
